Sustainable Instructional Leadership

Instructional Coaching and Leadership (ICL) is an innovative school improvement company that provides research-based strategies and utilizes ‘best practices’ to effectively turn around under-performing schools. We provide an extensive program of leadership development, teacher effectiveness training and data aligned mastery-based instructional strategies designed to effectively improve student performance and academic achievement.

Existing research on effective professional development has shown little impact of traditional training programs on creating change in the classroom.  It recommends models that provide on-going support that are job-embedded, and it specifically recommends coaching.  Our Instructional Coaching and Leadership program builds internal leadership capacity and sustainability by providing one-on-one mentoring and coaching to principals and classroom teachers.  

Our teams of credentialed facilitators are accredited principals and master teachers who have all experienced turning around low-achieving schools and certified to have provided substantiating documentation.  Instructional Coaching and Leadership’s instructional coaches facilitate building principals in the incorporation of ‘leader actions’ designed to implement proven instructional strategies.  Additionally, our master teachers observe classroom instruction and model best-practice ‘teaching and learning’ strategies.
